NATA Grants

NATA offers grants and travel support for projects that reflect our mission – to promote cooperation in tourism between Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe islands.

Who can apply?

Anyone from the region can apply for NATA funding, from individuals to organisations and companies. We offer grants in two main areas:

  • Tourism development and marketing
  • Travel support for schools, sporting trips and cultural exchanges

Grants for tourism development and marketing

If you have a project of this type, involving collaboration between at least two of the three West Nordic countries, then you can apply to NATA for a grant.

We welcome a range of projects, and innovative and creative ideas are encouraged. These might include ideas based on:

  • Collaborative marketing
  • Innovation and product development
  • Networking and knowledge exchange
  • Quality and environmental issues in tourism

The maximum grant we offer for these type of projects is 100,000 DKK, and this amount must not exceed 50% of the project‘s entire funding. The grant is not intended for wages or consultant fees.

Travel support

We always look to promote opportunities for travel and cultural exchange among the three countries. These might include the following:

  • School groups
  • Sports groups
  • Musical tours and events
  • Other types of cultural exchange

The maximum we offer for travel support is:

  • 1,000 DKK per person for travel between Iceland and the Faroe Islands/Greenland (round trip)
  • 2,000 DKK per person for travel between the Faroe Islands and Greenland (round trip)

The grant is only intended for travel costs – not accommodation or daily expenses.

Timing and deadlines

There are two deadlines a year for grant applications – usually in February and September (follow NATA News for dates).

Our online application forms are active throughout the year, except for in the weeks following deadlines, when current applications are evaluated.

We let all applicants know by email whether or not their application has been successful, normally within two months of application deadlines.
